Workshops on Organic Greenhouse Production in Greece

On Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 9:30 a.m., at the Open Farm Agora – Food Hub, in the "Consumers’ Market" retail wing of the Athens Central Fruit and Vegetable Market, a workshop on organic greenhouse farming will be held as part of the BIOGREENET project - Strengthening Innovation in Organic Greenhouses through Stronger Networks.

The workshops aim to explore the environmental, economic, and social costs, benefits, challenges, and trade-offs associated with organic greenhouse farming. By bringing together farmers, consultants, researchers, and other stakeholders and organisations involved in organic greenhouse farming systems, the meeting will create a space for exchanging experiences, views, and ideas regarding agroecological transitions and sustainable greenhouse production.

The workshops will include:

  • Open group discussions
  • Interactive co-creation activities
  • A review of potential solutions and practices

This activity, as part of the BIOGREENET project, will also provide an opportunity to identify common challenges and opportunities across different European countries and contribute to a broader understanding of organic greenhouse farming systems.

The workshops refer to the members of the Greek BIOGREENET Network. The Greek Network launched on July 6 with a kick-off meeting and remains open for new members (Link to the registration form: see below).
