As part of the European BIOGREENET project, a network in Germany and another in Austria were launched to support organic greenhouse cultivation. Coordinated by Naturland, the networks are aimed at organic greenhouse farms and are designed to promote practical knowledge exchange and cross-border networking.
The discussion focused on challenges such as increasing weather extremes, pests and diseases, irrigation and technology, as well as fertilization and crop management. The labor situation on farms, as well as price pressure and bureaucracy, also played an important role.
At both events, participants expressed a strong interest in a network that combines digital formats with in-person meetings. Online exchanges, farm tours, workshops, and topic-specific events are intended to highlight practical solutions and strengthen knowledge transfer between farms.
Those interested in being added to the networks' mailing list should contact Anja Scheurich, Naturland Consultant (see contact below).
