Viaverda
Viaverda is a non-profit organisation for applied agricultural and horticultural research in East-Flanders (Belgium), emerged from the merger of PCA, PCG and PCS. With a strong focus on practice-based innovation, Viaverda supports Flemish farmers, growers and greenkeepers in achieving ecological, economic and social sustainability.
From its sites in Destelbergen and Kruisem, Viaverda works through eight specialised teams within the 'cultivation under protection' and 'outdoor cultivation' departments, including potato, vegetable and ornamental cultivation and landscaping. The organisation has a modern infrastructure and combines in-depth practical knowledge with direct contact with the field.
As an objective and independent link between research and practice, Viaverda translates scientific insights into concrete applications. The organisation carries out application-oriented research, provides substantiated advice and disseminates knowledge widely in the sector. Thanks to a strong network at Flemish, Belgian and international level, Viaverda stays closely in touch with the latest technological and legislative developments.
Role in the project
Viaverda is specialised in translating technical and scientific knowledge into practical solutions for growers. With its strong connection to the horticultural sector and proven expertise in knowledge exchange, Viaverda plays a crucial role in the BIOGREENET project by facilitating the dissemination of best practices and promoting the adoption of sustainable, innovative cultivation techniques.
